A prophetic word. God is stirring us.

My child,
You feel it, don’t you? The stirring.
You can feel that I’m doing something new – in you. But, not just you, the atmosphere around you. I am disrupting. Things right now don’t feel steady, but this stirring is necessary. Before, there was separation – separation from Me – in so many realms - the church, relationships and the school. Eventually, it will all settle. But, for now, open your eyes. Be aware of what I am doing in the stirring.
A few days ago, as I sat in church, I looked towards a friend of mine. I saw this image, like it was hanging over the top of them, and with it came God’s quiet voice, “I’m stirring,” He said.
As I went home that day, I felt something moving within my own spirit. It almost felt like a sudden unrest or an anticipation, like something was shifting. The only words I had to describe it was…stirring. It wasn't just happening in the person I had seen. It was now happening in me!
I asked, “God, what is this stirring?”
To which I felt Him respond, “another call to obedience.”
I asked again what He wanted me to do, and He gave me direction. The prompting He gave me lingered all day as I wrestled with His instructions, not knowing if it was truly something that God was asking me to do. However, as soon as I developed the confidence and followed through, I felt such a peace.
Despite this, I went into my week with this word lingering in my mind. “Stirring, I’m stirring,” I kept hearing.
At school a few days later, I sat down at my desk after teaching a Christian studies class. A few days earlier, I had received a dream. In one part of that dream I was leading a class, and all the students were hungry for God. They were seeking Him and praying fervently. They wanted more of Him, willingly. Instead, of being opposed to hearing the gospel, they were now the ones speaking and declaring it out! Of course, as I taught this class the contents of the dream were not what I could see in the physical. It could not have been further from it! The students were disengaged, disruptive and ignorant to hearing about Christianity. (The second half of the dream was on a more personal level, but followed the same idea - that God is working something out in the spiritual that we cannot see yet [or even make sense of] in the physical).
As I sat at my desk, after a long day, I glanced at my notebook. I felt a strong desire to pick up a pen and start writing. I didn’t know what I wanted to write, but I had this sense that whatever I was about to write would be profound. Therefore, I followed my inclination and began to let my hand lead. These words, this prophecy, flowed forth from my pen…leaving me speechless as I read it back. Here it is again:
My child,
You feel it, don’t you? The stirring.
You can feel that I’m doing something new – in you. But, not just you, the atmosphere around you. I am disrupting. Things right now don’t feel steady, but this stirring is necessary. Before, there was separation – separation from Me – in so many realms - the church, relationships and the school. Eventually, it will all settle. But, for now, open your eyes. Be aware of what I am doing in the stirring.
When I was driving home after work, I began asking God for more revelation into what I had written, and He handed me gems - absolute treasures!
You see, when something is stirred - perhaps a cup of coffee with one sugar, or a cake mixture – it looks and feels like chaos in the moment. It is a disruption. However, though it may seem like chaos, the reason for the stirring is to take something good and transform it into something much better, or more flavoursome.
Have you ever considered that maybe the chaos you are experiencing in your life is preceding a miracle?
Before the stirring, there is separation. Although, once something is stirred it cannot be separated again. For instance, think of sugar in coffee, there’s no way (unless you’re super scientific) to reverse the process. Furthermore, stirring, mixing, combining, brings cohesion. It brings unity.
If you’re baking something, stirring is absolutely necessary, unless you want a dry, crumbling cake.
I really felt as though God was saying, “I want to dissolve my Spirit in you.” He wants for us to absorb His Spirit so much, that it cannot be removed. And, it wasn’t just for me, but for all of us…our entire community!
I felt that God was saying that right now, even though things may appear to be chaos, it is because He is performing a good work. He is disrupting and interrupting in order to enhance. He is performing an irreversible work where His people will not be separated from Him, or each other, again. He desires unity with His people, and He desires cohesion amongst His people.
So, friends, I send this word out today. Allow Him to stir you and your spirit. Watch as He takes what is good and transforms it into something great, something inseparable, something unified.
