A Roar In The Heavens

I hear a roar in the Spirit today! I hear a great trumpet blast! I feel the movement in the Spirit realm – the shifting!

Amos 3:8

The lion has roared— who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken— who can but prophesy?

The Python and The Mountain Lion

At the beginning of my week, I received a dream from the Lord. In the dream there was a massive python, devious and crooked, who was deceiving someone I knew. That person was holding the python, calmly and comfortably, unaware of the danger that laid within their hands. I remember screaming at them to let go of the snake, knowing it was harmful. The person urged me that it wasn’t going to harm them, or me. They continued to hold it. I continued to scream at them, “Let it go! Release it! Let it go!”

Eventually, they listened to me and released the snake. I remember being so fearful that the python was going to end up in someone else’s hands or cause harm to another.

The snake slithered away and waited on the side of a bush trail, waiting for someone as their prey. It was one of the biggest pythons that I had ever seen.

The scene then cut, and the python was twisting through the water, bending up and down as it made its way through the seas. I immediately knew that it was the prideful spirit, Leviathan (Job 40-41).

Isaiah 27:1

In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.

The serpent then reached the shore and slithered onto the sand. Many people were gathered around. I sat on top of a hill near a large rock with the same friend who had previously held the wicked python. I was filled with a sense of urgency to run away from the snake.

Psalm 27:5

For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.

I watched as the serpent slithered straight towards us, a devious look in its eye.

Suddenly, a mountain lion came out of nowhere and pounced on the back of something, or someone, on the sand, breaking its back and paralysing it in one swift movement. The lion kept attacking, striking swiftly. In the presence of the lion, the python disappeared.

Joel 3:4b

Are you trying to take revenge on me? If you are, then watch out! I will strike swiftly and pay you back for everything you have done.

Psalm 18:35-39

 35 O Lord, you protect me and save me; your care has made me great, and your power has kept me safe.

36 You have kept me from being captured, and I have never fallen.

37 I pursue my enemies and catch them; I do not stop until I destroy them.

38 I strike them down, and they cannot rise; they lie defeated before me.

39 You give me strength for the battle and victory over my enemies.

When I woke up, I wrote the dream down straight away. I didn’t have a complete picture of what it meant, but I knew that it held significance, specifically in relation to the people God placed in the dream. For me personally, I knew that God was exposing another principality that I had been facing, which I needed to break the assignment of, but was also assuring me of God's intervention.

Here are some of the features that held great significance:

• A dream featuring a python may signify spiritual warfare, the need for discernment, or a call to resist temptation. It may represent a familiar spirit or a spirit that seeks to squeeze out the spiritual life by applying spiritual pressure.

• Leviathan symbolises and will influence things such as pride, harshness, haughtiness, a hard heart and arrogance, it is a bending and crooked spirit who distorts or twists things. It is an evil creature that cannot be tamed by the natural strength of man. Physically, it appears as a water serpent or monster, but is a major principality that we face today, particularly in coastal regions or islands. This principality works through the mouth (either externally or internally) - lies, criticism, accusations, broken communication, fault finding and slander that may make you feel belittled, marginalised, wilfully misunderstood, disempowered or unworthy. If one is in partnership with this spirit, they may talk negatively about others and display these traits. • Mountain lions in biblical dreams symbolise strength, power, courage, and the need to overcome obstacles or face challenges. They represent divine protection, guidance, and intervention from God, as well as power and strength in spiritual realm/warfare.

Luke 10:19

Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing will injure you. 

A Mighty Torrent

The next afternoon, I suddenly grew unsettled in my Spirit. I could feel a stirring and knew that God was prompting me to seek Him because He wanted to reveal something.

I leaned into His prompting and asked Him what He wanted to tell or show me. Suddenly, I saw an image.

I was standing in a desert land and there was a mighty torrent, a river or wave of water, heading towards me. It was roaring - moving with such force, might, power and speed - that I knew it would surely destroy me. I heard the Lord clearly say, “get out of the way.”

Once He showed me this image, again, I was unsure of its significance or what it meant. I felt like there were two possible meanings to the image. Firstly, I felt that the torrent represented His judgement and secondly, that the torrent represented His Spirit. I felt that the move of the torrent (His Spirit) would bring judgement upon our enemies and make a way forward, leading to refreshment and a great harvest. But we had to get out of the way so that we weren't wiped out.

I sense that there are many in the Nations who oppose God - rulers, officials and spiritual principalities -and who will stand in the way - in pride and arrogance, with a stubborn heart and self-righteousness. They do not want to budge and want to stand against the great move of God, but as His Spirit moves through in power and might, His spirit will overcome these people, obstacles and dark rulers and make a way for His children to walk in freedom and power.

Isaiah 30:28

His breath is like a rushing torrent, rising up to the neck. He shakes the nations in the sieve of destruction; he places in the jaws of the peoples a bit that leads them astray.

Habakkuk 3:10

The mountains watched and trembled. Onward swept the raging waters. The mighty deep cried out, lifting its hands in submission.

The Lion, The Trumpet and The Shifting

On Thursday, I felt the same unrest in my Spirit for most of the day. As I got into the car on the way from work, all I could do was speak in tongues. But even that wouldn’t quench my Spirit. Something was happening – and it was big!

As I drove, I saw three things in the Heavens.

1. I saw the Lion of Judah, releasing a loud roar. I saw His mouth wide open with power and strength and heard His roar of judgement and protection over His children. In the wild, a lion roars right before it pounces on its prey. The roar of the lion is symbolic of the intervention of God in human affairs. He is preparing to swiftly strike down our enemies and intervene on our behalf! His roar is a warning of His imminent presence, action and movement.

Amos 3:4

Does a lion roar in the thicket when it has no prey? Does it growl in its den when it has caught nothing?

2. I saw the blast of trumpets - trumpets of victory and again, warning. It was a sound of His army bringing down walls and plundering our enemies. It was a war cry reverberating throughout the Heavens!

Amos 3:6

When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the Lord caused it?

Joshua 6:16

The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city!

3. I heard one word and felt it settle in my Spirit and on my lips: Shifting. It was a seismic shift – one that would bring great, sudden and dramatic change. It was a shift as though He was moving tectonic plates to bring an earthquake that would open the prison doors, swinging them wide open for our release. A shift that would set the captives free and bring deliverance from our oppressors.

Acts 16:25-28 (NIV)

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

When I was driving back home, the only thing that would quiet the inner dissonance and spiritual ‘irritation’ was to let out my own long and loud roar. Let me tell you, it was the strongest, loudest, most powerful war cry I have ever released! The Lion is roaring in and through US too! It is a roar that comes from the Throne of God! It is a roar that forces our enemies to bow down in surrender.

Pulling It All Together

So, what does this all mean? I felt like as God downloaded these things to me, the final puzzle pieces slotted into place, and I could finally make sense of what He was beginning to say to me since the start of the week.

I believe that many have been in the midst of intense spiritual warfare for a prolonged time. Many have had things stolen from them. Many have experienced attack after attack, and hit after hit. Many have been contending for breakthrough and have been waiting for and anticipating it every single day. We have felt it in the spirit, we have known that things are moving and changing, but we haven’t seen it manifest in the physical yet…

But let me tell you, it’s coming! It’s coming with might, power and speed.

The Lord is roaring, getting ready to strike the enemy! Like the mountain lion in my dream, the Lord will appear out of nowhere and intervene on our behalf. He is getting ready to bring justice to His children, for HIS sake! For HIS glory! He is coming to right the wrongs. He is coming with a hand of power, might and judgement for those who have experienced injustice and constant defeat under the hand of the enemy. He is coming to restore what was lost. He is coming to bring you victory over your situation and over the enemy, because He loves you and cares for you and wants you to live in freedom and victory.

Get Out of The Way

However, there is another side to this word and that is to “get out of His way.”

It is so important that remove our hands from anything that we shouldn’t have them on. We need to realise that what He is about to do will come so swiftly that we might be crushed under the mighty move of His Spirit if we attempt to face it ourselves or don't stand aside and allow God to do the work. This is not our battle to win. This is not our fight to fight. This is not our movement to begin. This purely belongs to the Lord, and HE wants all of the glory. So, we must get out of the way and allow HIM to make a way forward, so that we can then walk in ease and follow where HIS spirit goes.

Are you trying to make His plan happen in your own timing, by your own hands? Humble yourself and get out of the way.

Are you trying to oppose this move of His Spirit? Humble yourself and get out of the way.

Are you in any way stubborn and unyielding? Humble yourself and get out of the way.

Are you standing before the Lord in self-righteousness and religion? Humble yourself and get out of the way.

There is a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit on its way – to bring a shaking and an awakening to the Nations. But with the outpouring of His Spirit comes a great sifting – to separate the believers who are fully devoted to and hungry for God and those who are cruising, complacent and living for themselves. To seperate those who oppose Him from those who follow Him wholeheartedly. This roar is a warning of a new season that proclaims that His glory is coming!

Let me say it again. He is coming in MIGHT. He is coming anyway, whether you move or not. This mighty torrent, this mighty roar, will bring freedom, deliverance, blessing, victory and refreshment to some - to His children who love Him - and correction and judgement to others. For some, the time of judgement is over, for others, it’s only just beginning.

SO, which side are you on?

"How do I know?" You ask.

Well, quite simple. Are you a friend of God, or an enemy of God?

This is not intended to be a message of doom and gloom, but great promise of a movement of God on the horizon. He is calling you to listen to His roar, to step out of the way and allow Him to make a way forward. If you oppose Him, He is calling you to humble yourself, repent and follow Him. The Lion of Judah is roaring! The trumpets are blasting! The Heavens are shifting.

Another Word

When I finished writing this post I found this amazing prophetic word. Every word spoke straight to me and aligned with everything that the Lord has been revealing to me. It speaks to every desire that I have and the hunger that I possess for more of the Kingdom. If you have resonated with this word, friend, I encourage you to give it a read. I can only say so much.

THE ROAR OF THE LION OF JUDAH ~ A Weapon Of War For This Hour!

Joel 3

1 In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land. 3 They cast lots for my people and traded boys for prostitutes; they sold girls for wine to drink.

4 “Now what have you against me, Tyre and Sidon and all you regions of Philistia? Are you repaying me for something I have done? If you are paying me back, I will swiftly and speedily return on your own heads what you have done. 5 For you took my silver and my gold and carried off my finest treasures to your temples. 6 You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, that you might send them far from their homeland.

7 “See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to which you sold them, and I will return on your own heads what you have done. 8 I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far away.” The Lord has spoken.

9 Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack. 10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, “I am strong!” 11 Come quickly, all you nations from every side, and assemble there.

Bring down your warriors, Lord!

12 “Let the nations be roused; let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations on every side. 13 Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, trample the grapes, for the winepress is full and the vats overflow—so great is their wickedness!”

14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. 15 The sun and moon will be darkened, and the stars no longer shine.16 The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the heavens will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.

Blessings for God’s People

17 “Then you will know that I, the Lord your God, dwell in Zion, my holy hill.Jerusalem will be holy; never again will foreigners invade her.

18 “In that day the mountains will drip new wine, and the hills will flow with milk; all the ravines of Judah will run with water.A fountain will flow out of the Lord’s house and will water the valley of acacias.19 But Egypt will be desolate, Edom a desert waste, because of violence done to the people of Judah, in whose land they shed innocent blood. 20 Judah will be inhabited forever and Jerusalem through all generations. 21 Shall I leave their innocent blood unavenged? No, I will not.”

The Lord dwells in Zion!
